YOUR LOVE IN GOD’S SPIRIT
By Dr. Bonis E. Byrd, Jr.

The other day when I was meditating in the Word, a passage found in Colossians 1:3-14, the verses 7 through 8 jumped out at me: “As ye learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; (8) who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit”.

The phrase “your love in the Spirit” suddenly hit me; God’s love becomes our love. Think about it, God is love, and His love is our love because he has made us fitting to take a part in the inheritance as saints in his image (Colossians 1:12). God, the Father gave his best (the Lord Jesus, Love Incarnate): that we might live and enjoy the God kind of life through the Spirit.

I guess what I’m trying to say is: if we are ever to receive the fullness of God’s promises, we must walk in the reality that God’s love belongs to us and He has translated us into the kingdom of God’s dear Son, the Son of his love. In this way we reflect an image of his Son in light of God’s love. In other words, as he is, so are we in this (present) world (1John 4:17[b]).

The love of God, through the anointing, is what qualifies and enables us to identify with Jesus our Lord and with equal rights to the inheritance that is available and made available through him (John 17:25-26). And, furthermore enables us to do the greater works he testified of in our behalf. As we grow and mature in these promises, we will walk in the same authority and power of Jesus our Lord through the guaranty of that promise through the Anointing.

He (the Anointing, and his Anointed) that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth (or without this Anointing) is earthly, and speaketh of (or in relation to) the earth: he (the Anointing off the Anointed) that cometh from heaven is above all.

And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no (earthy or carnal) man receiveth his testimony.

He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal [thru the new birth} that God is true.

For he (the Anointing and his Anointed) whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him (John 3:31-34).

The Spirit is a person, who comes himself to abide in and upon you from the crown of your head to the very soul of your feet. Therefore, if we believe this, then we through the inheritance walk in the same anointing and enjoy the same freedom in the Spirit of Love.
And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by (or thru) Jesus Christ (John 1:16-17).

In the letter to the Church at Ephesus, Apostle Paul expressed that the Anointing as a down payment, is a guaranty on the very fulfillment of these things (Eph.1:13-14). That which is to be completed in full is simply an incorruptible body.
John the divine stated: Beloved now [at this present time] are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth [transforms] himself, even as he is pure (1 John 3:2-3).
God’s love helps us to walk in the reality of the above referenced passage. Note the following:
He that loveth not knoweth no God; for God is love (1 John 4:8).
In other words, he does not know or have had any fellowship or relationship with God.
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten son into the world, that we might live [the same love life] through him.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins…
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit…
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
This is another way of saying God’s love in us is a guaranty that we are bonafied “ love children” anointed to live the love life of God. We can live above the law of sin and death and reign as kings in the earth by abiding in the Love realm. Apostle Paul called this life; “the Law of the Spirit of Life that is in Christ Jesus…” (Rom. 8:2[a])
Living the love life as our very own is what will change our world personally and socially. This life will turn failure into victory, fear into faith, lack into abundance, and poverty into prosperity.
It will make you “fruitful in every good work…” (Col. 1:10,8-13.
I encourage you to believe the Love God has toward you, and to receive it as your very own to live. God’s richest be yours today and forever, through your love [life] in the Spirit.
