BELIEVE
IN GOD OR BELIEVE GOD
By Reverend Eugene Harris
For
what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted
unto him for righteousness.
(Rom 4: 3) Not only was Abraham fully
persuaded, but God also was persuaded concerning Abraham’s
faith (Gen. 18:18-19). If we then say that we are the seed of Abraham,
then why aren’t we seeing the same results as Abraham? Could
it be that we are not working the covenant –putting action
to our faith? If that were the case, then the next question is
how does one work the covenant? I am so glad you ask that question
(Dr. Byrd quote). The answer is found in the book of Hebrews the
11th chapter. Our Pastor has revealed to us through God’s
word the equation that will bring success and that’s “now
faith”.
In the book of Joshua chapter 1 verse 8, God tell us to not let the
law (the word of God) depart out of our mouth. (allow me to add out
of the heart also) but we shall meditate therein day and night to
observe and to do according to all that is written therein, for then
we shall make our way prosperous, and then we will have good success.
Good success is not automatic, it require an active part from us. Let
us look at Joshua and Caleb, who were just like us for the most part,
the only different was that they had a “cannot do attitude”.
Please allow me to explain why I stated “cannot do attitude”,
you see these men trusted in God and in God’s man totally, not
once can we find where they spoke out against Moses (God’s man),
but what ever Moses told them to do they did it. Why? Because Moses
followed, trusted, and leaned on God, God’s authority was given
to Moses. Guess what church, we are no different from Joshua and Caleb.
We too must have a “cannot do attitude”.
We cannot quite (Philippians3:14; 4:13; Rev 2:7)
We cannot stop fellowshipping God or His word (Deuteronomy 28:1;Ps
1:2;Job 22:21-24,28)
We cannot rely on our own strength or understanding (Proverbs 3:5)
We cannot dishonor our man of God and his wife (Numbers 12: 6 - 9)
We cannot stop praying or giving thanks
(I Thessalonians 5:17-18)
We cannot stop giving (II Corinthians 9:7)
We cannot stop tithing (Malachi 3:8-10)
We cannot put things off (II Corinthians 8:10)
We cannot forget God’s grace (Ephesians 3:7-12)
These are just a few to reminds us of how important it is to be in
God present day and night. Now that I had a chance to explain having
a can not do attitude can be a good thing it depends on your attitude.
We are on our way CCC now is the time for our now faith, we are covenant
people who has a now word from a now God.
May God richly bless your
life.
